AHOMO (A Home of My Own) is a national housing initiative acquiring 3,500 single-family homes across 42 states. The mission is simple: create affordable, high-quality homes for working-class families while partnering with local licensed agents to build generational wealth. The fund operates with institutional backing and uses the CloseAbility platform to streamline sourcing, managing, and closing distressed real estate deals.
After scheduling your call, you can start by filling out the application form. We’ll run a background check (to ensure no felonies or disciplinary actions are pending against your license). Once that’s cleared, we’ll schedule your application call, where we review your information and develop a strategy tailored to your success on the platform. From there, you’ll move into training.
No. We do all the sourcing for you. Our sourcing process is based on real field experience—not content creator gimmicks. We only bring properties into the pipeline when we’re at least 80% confident the deal will close. If it doesn’t meet that threshold, we don’t waste your time.
Only licensed real estate agents and attorneys are eligible. AHOMO is not open to wholesalers, unlicensed investors, or speculators. To maintain integrity and protect the fund, we do not move forward with applicants who:
- Have pending felonies
- Have license suspensions or lapses
- Have lawsuits related to client fund mismanagement
- Have excessive negative reviews on Zillow, BBB, or similar platforms
Over 21% of applicants are not accepted, so taking the application seriously is key.
There are no application or monthly fees to become an AHOMO buyer’s agent. However, a $55 annual compliance screening is required before approval. This covers background checks and license verification—we don’t profit from it. The screening helps maintain public trust, increases opportunity flow for approved agents, and satisfies legal and ethical requirements. We review criminal history, disciplinary actions, and license status. Most agents (79%) are approved, and if you’re not, the fee is refunded.
As a buyer’s agent, you’ll receive:
- A formal Buyer Rep Agreement with the fund
- 3.5% commission per acquisition you represent
- The opportunity to lead or assign property renovations (with specs agreed in advance)
- The option to purchase the property post-rehab at a fair, pre-agreed price
- Free 8-hour onboarding to train you on the CloseAbility platform
- Deals with 30–40% equity upside and built-in protections for families
It's just two steps:
Book your application call with Fund Manager Kevin Ra using the calendar on this page.
Complete the intake form sent to your email after scheduling. Your call will be canceled if this form isn’t submitted beforehand.
During the call, we’ll review your experience, goals, and how we can partner to help you grow.
You earn a 3.5% commission for every acquisition you bring or represent. Commissions are paid directly by the fund. No chasing payments. You also have the chance to lead the renovation or even purchase the property yourself after repairs, creating multiple income streams per deal.
Training is about 7 hours in total, but it’s on-demand—you can complete it at your own pace, usually within 4–5 days. The training teaches you our BLI Framework (Buyer’s Agent, Listing Agent, Investor) and equips you to succeed in whichever role fits best for each deal. Training includes real-world examples, quizzes, and certification.
Unlike those companies, our platform was built by agents, investors, and attorneys who have actually closed thousands of deals—not just by MBAs running spreadsheets. We built Closability to anticipate issues, navigate local laws, and drive real community development outcomes. That’s why we’re able to close deals ethically, profitably, and at scale.
Not at all. AHOMO is the opposite of traditional flipping models. It’s designed to keep equity local and make homeownership possible for working-class families. Every home is sold or rented with new mechanicals and warranties, creating real long-term value—not just quick profit.
Once your application call is complete and you're approved, you’ll gain immediate access to onboarding. Many agents complete training and are ready to start submitting offers within 7–14 days of booking their call.
All approved agents complete a free, mandatory 8-hour onboarding. It’s built around CloseAbility’s SMC Framework (Source–Manage–Close) and gives you a step-by-step system to close distressed sales predictably and with legal protection.
AHOMO operates in 42 states, and there are only 105 total buyer’s agent spots available across the country. Your assigned target market is secured once you're approved and trained. If you’re in a competitive metro area, it’s wise to apply early.
Investors are welcome to bring deals — but only licensed agents or attorneys can formally represent the fund. If you’re an investor, you can partner with a licensed agent who joins AHOMO to structure your transactions legally and compliantly.
Our platform helps identify the best role for you in each transaction:
Listing Agent: When short sale guidelines require properties to be listed.
Buyer’s Agent: When representing qualified buyers.
Investor: When properties are free and clear or ideal for rehab/resale.
Closability automatically selects the right workflow (from 7 agent-level workflows) to close the deal as efficiently as possible.
